TIC TOC ART DOCENTS NEEDED

Do you want to go into your child's classroom and see them in action? Volunteer as a TIC TOC Art Docent! TIC TOC (To Introduce Culture To Our Children) is a local volunteer organization that makes fine and performing arts experiences available to our students. The program has paintings and special collections of sculptures and artifacts that are on display at the school throughout the year. We are looking for parents to serve as art docents to bring the artwork into the classroom to share with the students. Docents can have a class discussion about the artwork, do a related craft or activity, or a combination of both. The possibilities are endless! The docents coordinate with the classroom teacher to find times that they can go into the classroom. No experience is needed as we provide resources along the way and offer parents to shadow some of the more experienced docents. If you are interested, please email Jessie Long.

OUTDOOR LIBRARY

The Outdoor Library is dressed up for Halloween and the collection rotated to highlight mystery, fantasy, and season selections. Thank you book donors!

Please remember to: Borrow one book at a time Return books within two weeks (location on front patio) Check home and backpacks for books with the “Jean Schoenlank’s Outdoor Library” sticker

Any questions, suggestions or to donate, please email RidgeOutdoorLibrary@gmail.com

Our diversity is a source of strength, excellence, joy, and creativity. The Ridge DEI Committee is part of this diverse community, dedicated to supporting resources and opportunities for communication, storytelling, engagement, and education related to equity for all. Most recently, the DEI Committee presented a community wide activity at our Back to School Picnic, called the “I AM” project. The DEI Committee has also created a StoryWalk behind Ridge at the Castle Playground. Please click here for more information!

RED ZONE – NEW PARENTS PLEASE READ!

Please remember that the Red Zone is for students who can unbuckle their own seatbelts and open the car door by themselves in a timely manner. We ask that students be ready to exit when the car is stopped. Please have your student only exit from the passenger side in the marked Red Zone at drop off, and only enter your car in the Red Zone at pick up. Parents are not permitted to park in the Red Zone line and get out of vehicles, and children are not permitted to walk down the driveway and enter cars that are waiting for the Red Zone. The teacher parking lot is only for 4th and 5th grade students, not for parking and walking your children. Please wait for crossing guards to cross you. Be patient, no speeding or honking. To keep the Red Zone running we need to have help in the mornings and afternoons to ensure that rules are followed and to assist when needed. Please help us keep our kids safe by following these rules and by volunteering. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0848ACAB2AA7F58-october1
